SIX Cricket Academy set to conduct the second edition of the Talent Hunt Programme for Budding Cricketers (Boys & Girls) in Karnataka

The scouting will take place in six cities in Karnataka between 14th-21st January 2024 and will be conducted by Head Coach & Director of SIX Cricket Academy, Mr. Karthik Jeshwanth, Former Ranji Trophy Captain and Coach

Bangalore, 4th Janโ€™24: The Bengaluru-based cricket academy, SIX Cricket Academy, located within the cutting-edge Padukone-Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence, is ready to go live with the second edition of the Talent Hunt Programme. The Talent Hunt, which will take place across six cities in Karnataka, starting from Bangalore and concluding on January 21st in Raichur, aims to spot, nurture, and groom the next generation of young talented cricketers (U14 and U16 boys and girls).

The first edition saw more than a thousand athletes participate in the program, out of which eight players were shortlisted to be part of a scholarship program. The scholarship covers a 12-week on-site exposure to world-class training, nutrition counseling, matches, cricket-specific fitness training, etc., along with remote assistance throughout the year. With the support of brands like Cult.fit and SG, this initiative not only propels players into the realm of world-class cricket but also catalyzes their journey to aspire for excellence on the global stage.

Commenting on the initiative, K. Jeshwanth said, โ€œWe are extremely happy and excited to launch this program, which will help us identify young cricketing talent and bring them to our academy for holistic training. I believe that there is no dearth of cricketing talent in Karnataka; however, not everyone has the means to make it to top-level cricket. We hope to change this through our program, which is completely free to the selected players. Here I am proud to add that one of the girls who was picked by us last year through the Talent Hunt is today playing for Karnataka in the Under-15 level.โ€

SIX Cricket Academy, established seven years ago, aspires to create well-rounded humans by building their skills and values through their relationship with cricket. The academy is grounded in the spirit of cricket for all, and the philosophy that cricket is a sport that must be learnt and not taught. Currently, the academy attracts children from all age groups who show interest in the game of cricket, and it has achieved success with representation at the U14, U16, U19, and U23 and Senior state levels.

CRICKET FITNESS PROGRAM

SIX Cricket Academy in association with Cult.fit launches their first Cricket specific Fitness Program

India's leading cricket academy, SIX Cricket in partnership with Cult.fit has launched its first cricket-specific fitness program.

As the game evolves, fitness has become key for players to play at the highest level. Cricket is not only a game of skill but also demands athletes to be at peak fitness levels, hence the program is specifically designed to fill that gap. The program will be led by Head of Strength and Conditioning Coach (SIX Cricket) Kartik Achappa, accredited with Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA) Associate L2 having many years of experience under his belt.

Through this program, SIX aims to provide a curated, systematic weekly plan that works on the fundamentals of cricket fitness while targeting areas like strength, endurance, mobility, stability, strength, and speed training. Additionally, the program will also focus on providing athletes with adequate recovery sessions and nutrition training to enhance the athletes' cricket performance.

The program will be housed at the Padukone Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence, where state-of-the-art facilities and coaches bring out the best of athletic abilities.
